Our Services

  • Provide customized research support to agencies, delivered remotely or in a hybrid mode based on the specific needs of the clients [These agencies may include state Departments of Transportation (DOT) and Provinces in the USA and Canada; R&B departments, NHAI, Corporations, and Municipalities in India]
  • Offer specialized research assistance to smaller agencies facing resource constraints, enabling agencies to conduct meaningful research that aligns with their goals
  • Harnessing technology to enhance collaboration and communication across distances, ensuring efficient knowledge exchange and project implementation
  • Emphasis on practical, tangible applications that agencies can easily implement, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Helping agencies identify their research needs, develop research questions, and interpret findings for practical application

PAVEMENT ENGINEERING – Materials, Design & Management [Flagship Research Area]

  • Local Calibration of AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design (PMED):
  • ARP’s team has prior experience calibrating AASHTOWare PMED performance models for local conditions using the AASHTO Calibration Assistance Tool (CAT) for a state Department of Transportation (DOT). It was carried out by utilizing historical data for the preliminary study, while test section data was employed for the main study.
  • Layer Coefficient Update for AASHTO 1993 Pavement Design Methodology:
  • Given the challenges with PMED implementation from a B/C standpoint, several remote and small-sized agencies moved back to AASHTO 1993 and explored updating material structural layer coefficients. ARP’s team has extensive professional experience executing such research projects remotely from India.
  • Laboratory and Field Performance Evaluation of New Materials and Methods:
  • With the evolution of science and technology, several new and alternative materials (modified binders, recycled asphalt, etc) and mix-design methods (like balanced mix design) have been introduced. ARP’s vast research and industry experience assist practitioners in evaluating the effectiveness of these innovations by analyzing both laboratory and field performance data together.
  • Advanced and Emerging Technologies and Data Science Applications:
  • With the advancement in data collection technologies like LiDAR, Laser, GPS, and IoT, along with emerging data analysis techniques such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning, it is now possible to develop more robust deterioration models used for pavement management systems (PMS). It helps enhance the decision-making process for practitioners immensely.
